As part of Navarino's environmental commitment, every Starlink unit activated contributes to the removal of plastic waste from the world's oceans.
Thanks to Newport's participation, the equivalent of 2,000 plastic bottles has already been removed from marine environments.
This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to responsible shipping, technological innovation, and environmental stewardship. Newport SA has achieved outstanding recognition in the latest RISK4SEA Top PSC Performers Report (April 2026), securing 1st place globally in the Handysize segment (<35k DWT) among 111 ship managers.
Further reinforcing its leadership, the company secured 3rd place globally in the Handymax segment (35-50k DWT) among 70 ship managers and 2,344 inspections, proving its ability to consistently deliver top-tier performance across vessel categories.

During 2025, Newport’s Starlink activations resulted in the planting of 1,000 trees, based on 50 trees per activation, supporting our broader sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives.

As part of this commitment, we are proud to offer a €3,000 corporate scholarship for the academic year 2025–2026, awarded to a student of the Postgraduate Program “Organization, Operation, Development and Management of Ports” at the University of West Attica.
Through this initiative, Newport S.A. supports academic excellence and contributes to the long-term development of the Greek port ecosystem, enabling access to high-quality education for individuals with strong academic performance and social merit.
